Description of the purpose of Azure Arc.

Arc utilises ARM to extend compliance and monitoring to a hybrid/multi-cloud configuration. Arc simplifies governance and management by providing a consistent multi-cloud and on-prem management platform. Arc provides a way to:

• Manage your entire environment together.

• Manage multi-cloud and hybrid VMs, Kubernetes clusters and databases.

• Use familiar Azure services and management capabilities.

• Continue using traditional ITOps with DevOps to support new cloud and native patterns.

• Configure custom locations.

What can Azure Arc do Outside of Azure?

Arc current allows you to manage:

• Servers

• Kubernetes Clusters

• Azure Data Services

• SQL Server

• Virtual Machines (Preview)
